Framing the Forgotten: Architecture, Light, and Legacy

I create to preserve what’s often overlooked—spaces once full of life, now quiet and still. My work explores forgotten architecture and landscapes, particularly in black and white, as a way to process memory, isolation, and time. These photographs became even more personal during the global pandemic—a period that forced stillness and redefined freedom.

In 2020, I found myself disconnected from the world, unable to travel or document the places that gave me creative purpose. Like many, I experienced anxiety, uncertainty, and a sense of loss. The familiar became distant. These moments shaped what I captured: cities emptied of people, light carving through quiet structures, and spaces that once felt accessible now sealed off by silence.

What you’ll see throughout my collections is a visual journal of that experience. Architecture became a metaphor—standing, enduring, often untouched by the chaos around it. My work doesn’t chase perfection. It reflects resilience, stillness, and the beauty found in what remains.

My artistic vision is deeply influenced by the work of Josef Sudek. His quiet, poetic imagery—often created during times of great hardship—reminds me that beauty doesn’t disappear in difficult moments; it simply waits to be seen differently. Like Sudek, I aim to capture the subtle details and emotional undercurrents of the world around us, especially when it’s most fragile.

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to have my work recognized and shared with wider audiences. In 2017, I was honored to be selected as one of the winners of General Motors' Your Photo Here contest. Out of nearly 500 submissions, my photograph was chosen among the top 100 to advance to public voting—and then selected as one of the final top 10 winners. It now hangs inside Detroit’s GMRENCEN, accompanied by an artist biography. That moment marked my first public installation and a turning point in my creative journey.

In 2021, I was proud to have two of my photographs selected for the Mercedes-Benz Research & Development Art Exhibit. My work was featured in the Local Perspectives, Global Reach catalog, highlighting artists whose photography bridges cultural and creative boundaries. It was an incredible honor to be included among such talented peers and to have my art recognized in an international setting.

Looking ahead, I continue to build on these moments with new series that explore how architecture shapes—and reflects—the present and future. These upcoming collections focus on visual storytelling rooted in current urban landscapes and imagined spaces, continuing the theme of transformation and memory through design.

Thank you for taking the time to connect with my work. Whether you’re a collector, a fellow creative, or simply curious, I invite you to explore the world through my lens.
